Close but no cigar...

2017-06-24

Columbus fans are set to welcome the team at a rally later this afternoon in downtown Columbus following a miraculous Toro Cup run that came just one game short of capturing the ultimate BFHA prize. Michael Chala and the Western Conference Colorado Avalanche proved too much for the Blue Jackets to handle.

The road to the Finals was uphill for 7th seed Blue Jackets (102pts) having to go through the Eastern Conference and 3 of the BFHA’s regular seasons best finishers in the Islanders (126pts – tie 2nd), Devils (125pts – 4th), and Red Wings (141pts – 1st). The Avalanche (121pts – 5th) were at the end of that road. The Blue Jackets fought to 7 games despite never skating their best team and facing a significant difference in chances with the man advantages. Colorado saw 35 opportunities to Columbus’s 16. The gritty Series is a reminder of the fact that someone has to win and someone has to lose.

Columbus fans have a lot to be proud of and already a lot of questions about the team moving forward. The team is typically quite active and it is no surprise that management may seek to deepen the franchise by exploring the market for a star player or two.

Another congratulations to the Colorado Avalanche!

The fax lines are open in Columbus and we check the answering machine often.
